SIKAI 06: The Future of Reading On Paper
Artwork from my WHORL series received a Cover and 6 page article spread in Volume no. 6 of SIKAI - an independent publishing project based in Chengdu, China, dedicated to exploring contemporary reading, media, and cultural practices through thematic editorial research and interdisciplinary interviews. Each volume focuses on a core question that connects reading with the history of communication, visual culture, and the future of written media. This project explores how physical books continue to hold their power and meaning in a digital age. Rather than positioning print and digital reading as oppositional, Sikai examines how the two coexist, evolve together, and how readers continue to find irreplaceable value in the material experience of the book.
