Art in Small Packages: Miniature Artist Books from America
An exhibition organized by the U.S. Embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the William J. Fulbright Program and the Ministry of Culture. Curated by Suzanne Reese Horvitz and Robert Roesch for the 4th International Biennial of Contemporary Art, December 11-17, 2009.
..”Miniature Artworks thrived in Azerbaijan and along the Silk road for centuries, and they allowed people from different cultures to learn more about one another, to share their stories, to communicate their emotions. These miniatures are a 21st century form, bringing American Stories, ideas and feelings to the Southern Caucasus..” Donald Lu, Charge d’Affaires, U.S. Embassy.
I created a miniature sculpture from books entitled “Stack” for this exhibition.
